The journey continues....infinity and BEYOND!

It's been a busy month or so since i last Bloggity Blogged...
In an effort to keep u in the loop, here are some of the things that's been goin down!

- I had the privilege of recording a song with Keelay & Zaire for their upcoming project entitled "Ridin' High - ep". They asked me to do a remake of the soul classic by Faze O "Ridin High"....

The track came out HOOOOTTTTT!!!!! However, I've been asked to keep it under wraps til the release date (sometime in Jan/Feb 2009...so check back for that).

NOVEMBER 4, 2008 - WE MADE CHANGE

- This day will FOREVER be known as a historical moment in our LIVES.
My father was a civil rights activist (he worked for Dr. King)...when the results came in he called and said "Ya'll young people made history". I had to remind my father that if it wasn't for HIS generation, WE (I) would have NEVER BEEN ABLE TO VOTE, SO THANK YOU DAD and all of the people that cried, died and march!!!

(Look Daddy! I VOTED)

Thanks to you!!!

I want to take time out to thank a few people for helping
me throw a successful "Pre-Release" CD Release party at PST (9.16)

DJ Sake1 - He always has my back, in-spite of opposition. The constant giver of
time, energy and hook-ups.

DJ Henroc - He made sure that a sistah had someone running the sound (even tho everything he did got botched by some wanna-be engineering amateur) He had my back regardless. Next one, Hen...

Quincy Ramone - King of A.V. (that's Audio & Visual). My baby made sure that I was able to document this moment both visually and sonically. Despite the sound issues the live audio recording came out pretty damn good...and Q was able to take pictures, make a video and record it on "ringlet"...He's my super-mang!

Soultre James - Miss Chi-town, I met her just a few months ago and this sistah holds me down on the vocals. She can sing and she's just easy to work with. Came to California from Chicago to pursue her dreams of being a star...she's on he way!

Brianna & Ankh Marketing - She made sure that I got hella blast and shout outs about the event, Along with other team members of the Ankh machine...thanks guys for the luv! Next time Bri, be on time = )

Honorable Mentions: JFM, Trackademics, Will Hammond, Fran Boogie, Valentino, Korise J, Kev Choice, Scottie Spencer and a bunch of other lovely people that came by to celebrate and show me love...from the bottom of my heart it meant alot to me...I wish that I could tell you guys all that happened to get to that moment but it DON'T matter cause it turned out great
DESPITE OPPOSITION...

so thank you, thank you, thank you

Remember 9-1-1

I am taking the time out today to remember those innocent people that lost there lives
for the gain of a few!!!

Psalms 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

the first of many (i'm sure)

Greetings all...
well here we GO>>>>>>
This is the marking of my two-week count-down to my first "official release" of my EP
"Sweet Water Soul". Steppin' into the music game 9/23/08.
I'm excited, nervous, irritated, angry, and a host of
emotions depending on the day/hour and such!

For those who don't know, I've been a local artist for sometime.
Smashing on shows in my hometown (& out of town), lacing up producers, MC's and Dj's
tracks with vocals/lyrics for years...All that experience has made me the artist I am today.
However, now that I am "graduating" to the next level my thoughts are quite
reflective. When i started out (like most artist) I just wanted to sing my song, spit my verse, etc.
Which I did but I never thought that I would be a recording artist staking my claim to fame in the "music biz". Back in the days (as it is now) it was and for me will always be about the CRAFT.
But again, I'm in the "music biz" now and let me tell you it can have a way of choking the shit out of you (if you let it)...most of the bs artist have to deal with ain't got a thang to do with being creative.

So this is just a reminder to myself and other aspiring, dues paid already, ole g' artist...
IT SHOULD REMAIN ABOUT THE CRAFT, YOU KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE and
IF YOU KNOW THIS IZ WHAT YOU SUPPOSE TO BE DOIN WIT YOUR TIME & MONEY

"Never give up
Never no way
Never again"

til the next time I got some *hit on my mind~
